Anzac Day

They shall grow not old
as we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them,
nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun
and in the morning
We will remember them......

Lest we forget

Happy Easter

Happy Easter Blogging Friends !

If you are not from Australia you might be wondering what these funny little chocolate creatures are.

They are Australian marsupials , the one on the left is a 'Wombat' & the the other is a 'Bilby'.
Sadly the timid little Bilby is becoming extinct , thousands of these eggs are made every Easter to highlight their plight.
They are made of delicous Aust. Pink Lady Chocolate
( I think gives Lindt a run for its money )

Our 4 year old son was delighted with them this morning !

Mummy & Daddy were equally excited with these ones chosen by the kids

Of course no easter would be complete without  a Lindt chocolate bunny

Laundry Makeover Sneak Peek !

Towards the end of renovations , the budget has worn a bit thin.
So I decided so I can still purchase my "pretties" I would cut out the
tradies where possible.
Goodbye Painters !
Hello Paintbrush For Me.

I was going to paint the laundry this colour & wallpaper one wall.
But after coming home
with paint I thought was the perfect match (but alas wasnt ) , I had a change of mind.
I had painted a large patch on the wall by this time , I realised
even though the laundry is very light , painting a colour & wallpapering was going
to make it appear smaller......
So out came the white paint
It looks fresh and light , I am using accessories to add colour.

Makes it easy to change the look too, when the fancy takes me.
Just a few more details to go......

We will be ready for the reveal next week !

Grateful For The Colours Of Summer.......

The summer just passed has been eventful in our state & around the world.
I thought I would reflect on the highlights of our summer & be grateful for the wonderful moments we had......

Swimming......

Sunshine for 7 days & 1 relaxing rainy day.....

Fun at whitehaven beach .....

More swimming......

Meeting the locals each day at our room ......

I have always been fascinated with Kookaburras
Their shape , colours & of course that amazing laugh.
They are like the ' teddy bears of birds' to me....

Toy Kookaburra meet real Kookaburra.....

Hubby played golf with this magnificent view....

Swimming prettiness , love all the different shades of blue......

I swam with the turtles.......

My very first painting ever !
I did a art class at the gallery with artist Greg Wardell....

More stunning water colour......

Sailing.....

Sunsets.....

Yes it is a long post today but after not posting for a while now , I needed a little
cheering up. And what better way than with pictures of the whitsundays ( I do have
many many more) I cannot help myself.
There is blue everywhere you look of so many
 different shades .
I always say blue is my favourite colour , this is confirmed when ever I visit
here as I am always in awe.
For me its like a feeling of being in love for the first time.
I sometimes wonder if my 4 year old feels the same. Lately he says everyday
"mummy lets sale the house & live at Hammo"
I ask him what will mummy & daddy do for a job there to earn money.
His response " anything you like"
The innocence of a child is beautiful .
It makes me think would the world & its people be in a better state if we didnt loose
that simple thought process ?
What are your thoughts ?

Kitchen Love Ramble

Sarah Richardson Design

I love so many elements in this kitchen from the colour of the floorboards , not to dark ,
does not appear to be throwing any red or gold tones & has a lovely grain.
Does anyone know what timber it is  ? (Im sure it wont be available in Aust)
The blind is so so gorgeous & that light fitting , lovely.
Personally I dont like the raised bench at the back , I cant imagine the kids sitting up there.
It looks awkward , but hey I am height challenged !
And why do they make fridges with such chunky handles , eeek (not so elegant , nor is the word eeek)
Otherwise it is dreamy the way the light is flooding through the window.
Loads of character with the cross bars on the glass front cupboards , beautiful tapware &
the gorgeous finish at the top of the wall cabinets.
Interestingly that is how I wanted my new kitchen finished off , I managed to convince the
designers to take the cabinets to the ceiling (more shelf space & no dusting required on the top)
but I couldnt convince them to finish off with the moulding surrounds against the ceiling.
Twelve months on I still look at it & think its not finished properly.
I am going to email them tommorow this picture & have them explain again why they cannot acheive it.
Wish me luck.....
Is grey becoming the new white ?
It is so sophisticated , serene & calming (to me).
Our very first home had a lot of grey , I can feel myself heading that way again.
Even though whites & blues I adore
I am not apposed to pops of colour in pink & green
Sigh.......
Oh be grateful to have one home Karyn.
But wouldnt it be fun to have a few & decorate every one differently !
I guess that is the joy interior decorators have every day
(of course with the right clients)
